Fishing Report for Week of 11/26/06 - 12/03/06 ° °
The week
of 11/26/06 to 12/03/06, can you say TROUT, TROUT, TROUT
because that wouldn't even come close to describing the
numbers of trout that we landed this week. It was as if
someone opened the Trout gates and told them all to go to
Tarpon Springs. I don't think we had a day where we caught
less than 50 nice Trout. All caught on jigs.
The weather
was just gorgeous and we could also add a few nice Ladyfish
catches to our bounty. Some tipping the scales at 3-4 pounds!
Talk about jumping, there's a reason they call them the
"poormans Tarpon". All caught on jigs using Berkley
4" grubs, the color was smoke.
So grab your
partner, children or a buddy and let's go fishing!

° ° Florida Fishing Report for Week of 11/13/06
- 11/19/06 ° °
The week
of 11/13/06 to 11/19/06 the fishing pace has picked up a
notch from last week. The water temperature is about 70
degrees which has allowed more fish to move into the flats.
The live bait such as sardines and chubs are still a bit
sparse but can be found on the deeper flats and on the beaches
of Tarpon Springs.
The Redfish
are still biting good. The Trout are still nice and fat
but the flats have exploded with lots of big Ladyfish and
Jacks as large as 15 lbs. They are lots of fun on light
tackle such as 6-8 weight fly rods and 6-10 lbs spinning
rods. Using top water plugs, jigs and strimmer flies.
So take a
kid fishing before the weather goes south.
